<p><span>모터는 현대 산업 설비의 핵심 동력원으로, 전 세계 산업 전력 소비의 65~70%를 차지합니다. 그러나 현장에서는 "대략적인 경험"으로 모터를 선정하는 경우가 여전히 많으며, 이는 모터 소손, 에너지 낭비, 설비 고장, 인증 문제 등 다양한 손실로 이어집니다. 본 보고서는 모터 토크 계산이 반드시 필요한 10가지 핵심 이유를 기술적 관점에서 체계적으로 서술하고, 각 이유의 공학적 근거와 실무적 의미를 함께 제시합니다.</span></p>
<p>토크 계산 없이 모터를 선정하면 실제 요구 토크보다 용량이 부족한 모터가 선정될 위험이 있습니다. 부족한 토크로 운전되는 모터는 과전류 상태에서 지속 운전되며, 권선 온도가 상승하여 절연 파괴 및 소손으로 이어집니다.</p>

<p>과소 선정은 소손을, 과대 선정은 에너지 낭비를 유발합니다. 토크 계산을 통해 실제 부하에 맞는 최적 용량을 선정해야 초기 투자비와 운영비를 동시에 최소화할 수 있습니다.</p>

<p>모터는 기동 순간 정격 운전 시보다 훨씬 큰 토크가 필요합니다. 특히 관성 부하(컨베이어, 플라이휠, 대형 팬)는 기동 토크가 부족하면 기동 자체가 불가능하거나 매우 긴 기동 시간이 발생합니다.</p>
